Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Shed fire

Celina firefighters douse a fire burning inside a storage shed in the backyard of a property in the 6800 block of Janet Avenue in Celina on Friday at 5:01 p.m. Fire chief Doug Wolters said the fire was believed to be caused by leaves that were burning earlier and had been blown near the shed owned by Mike Schoenleben. The shed and contents including a lawnmower and snowblower were considered a total loss. The loss was valued at $9,000.
