Barbara Minnich
Barbara A. Minnich, 85, of Saint Marys, went peacefully home to eternal peace on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Laurels of Shane Hill Nursing Home.
She was born August 17, 1932, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Veron and Opal (Vanover) Howell. She married Herschel Minnich on September 15, 1951, in Saint Marys, and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1996.
She is survived by three sons: Tony (Juliet) Minnich of Lebanon, Tennessee; Philip Minnich of Lima; Bruce Minnich of Lima; by four daughters: Patricia (John) Harrod of Celina; Tammy Minnich of Saint Marys; Kristina Grant of Saint Marys; Lisa (Scott) Grant of Saint Marys. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings: Ruby (Roger) Settlage of New Knoxville; Angie (Larry) Thornsberry of Saint Marys.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband; by three sons: Roger, Mike and Don Minnich; by her brother, Dick Howell; by her sisters Wilma Wolfe and Norma Sullivan.
She graduated from Saint Marys Memorial High School, where she had played the saxophone in the school marching band. She retired from the Valley Nursing Home in Saint Marys, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Saint Marys.
She was an avid fan of Saint Marys Roughrider sports, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, and singing. She will be remembered as a gracious lady who always made you feel welcome.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
