Boyd Arnold
Boyd E. Arnold, age 90 of Lima, died at 1:30 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born April 17, 1927 in Celina, Ohio to the late Hosea and Alvera Marie Hoel Arnold. On September 3, 1955 he married Betty "Jean" Rhyne, who survives.
Mr. Arnold retired on May 1, 1991 as an electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #32 of Lima, a member of the Cridersville United Methodist Church, and attended Celina High School. He was a U.S. WW II Navy Veteran serving between May 1945 and July 1946 on the LST-1021 ship; and a former member of the American Legion Post 96 of Lima. He would always watch and cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He was a talented wood worker and was known for his quick wit.
Also surviving a daughter – Cheryl (Robert) Perkeybile of Fort Recovery; a son – Scott (Melody) Arnold of Vacaville, CA; 5 grandchildren – Allison (Cory Trese) Perkeybile; Megan Perkeybile; Nathan (Kali) Sites; Rachel Arnold; and Avery (Patricia) Arnold; 3 great grandchildren – Averill Sites; Sullivan Sites; Max Sites; a brother – Paul (Odell) Arnold of Celina.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers – Gene Arnold and Alvin Arnold.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Cridersville United Methodist Church. Rev. Casey Irwin will officiate. Burial and military rites will be held in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
