Snow showers associated with an arctic front are moving through this morning, providing a quick accumulation of snowfall. With wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the snow showers combined with blowing snow are reducing visibility and creating challenging travel conditions. These conditions are most impactful on roads that are more rural and are aligned from north to south. Even after the snow ends, elevated winds will continue to blow snow into the early afternoon.
Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Christine Silver
Christine E. Silver, 72, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 11:29 P.M. Sunday, January 14, 2018, at her residence.
She was born December 9, 1945, in Celina, the daughter of Ferdinand and Ruth (Teeters) Kohler. She married Vernon Silver on June 27, 1964, in Saint Marys, and he survives at the residence.
She is also survived by her children: Michael (Pamela) Silver of Lima; Renae (Randy) Kingen of Huntington, West Virginia; Deborah (John) Alday of Madison, Alabama; Jeffrey Silver of Saint Marys.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Mackenzie Herbert; Sasha Jabro; Lisa Morris; Michael Oehler; Andrew Silver; Jessy Silver; Dustin Silver; Jordan Silver; Kayla Silver; Suzanne Silver; Karri Silver; Sarah Thobe; Mercedes Silver; Michael Silver. She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Teagan; Kash; Emerson; Ethan; Taylor; Hayden; Bethanny; Isabell; Sierra; Wesley; Dustin, Jr.; Payton; Cheyanne; Theodore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Joseph Kohler.
Christine retired from CAPT in Celina, and she had previously worked at Huffy Manufacturing and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and she will be remembered as a loving wife and mother.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Mark Bayliff, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
