Brendan Poling
Brendan David Poling, 49, of Mendon, went home to be with his Savior, and son Nicholas, brother Brian, and nephew Michael Young, on February 15, 2018. His death occurred in a work related accident, at his place of employment, the Village of Mendon.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Meyer Poling; and three sons, Nathan of Delphos, and Noah and Nevin at home. A fourth son, Nicholas, died in January, 2016.
Brendan was born September 11, 1968, to Walter Poling of Van Wert and Barbara Courtney Poling Good of Venedocia. Both survive. He is also survived by his step-father, Charles Good, of Lima.
Siblings include: Sean Poling of Van Wert, Heather Ann Poling (Kevin) Matthews of Van Wert, Ian Good of Minnesota, Colin Good of Van Wert, and Meghan Good of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Brendan was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas; brother, Brian; and grandparents, James and Anna Courtney.
He was a graduate of Lincolnview High School, a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and employed by the Village of Mendon.
Brendan had many talents, abilities, and hobbies. First and foremost, he was devoted to his four sons, with whom he enjoyed many memorable moments. He was truly a jack of all trades, whether it was fixing things around the house, automotive repairs, or building anything. Brendan could do it all. And not just for his family, but anyone who needed help.
Fishing was one of his hobbies, as well as camping with his family. He was a die-hard Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye football fan. Brendan was also an expert marksman with a pistol and rifle. Racing on dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, or anything with tires was one of his passions, as was playing corn hole.
