Louis Hoyng
Louis E. Hoyng, age 82 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at the Gardens at Celina Nursing Home.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1935 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Urban & Cleopha (Stelzer) Hoyng. On Oct. 4, 1958 he married Dorothy Helen Muhlenkamp, who survives in Celina.
Louis was also survived by his two sons & daughters-in-law Daniel (Elaine) Hoyng of Mashpee, MA, David (Amy) Hoyng of Celina, four grandchildren Sarah Hoyng, Adam Hoyng, Caleb Hoyng, Alyssa Hoyng, brother Gerald Hoyng of Celina, sister Marita Uhlenhake of Celina and his brother-in-law John Mara of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Brian Hoyng, brothers and sister-in-law Ralph (Ruth) Hoyng, Romaine Hoyng, Ronald Hoyng, and his sisters and brothers-in-law Germaine Mara, Mary Lou Hoyng and Lawrence Uhlenhake.
Louis attended Coldwater High School and then served his country in the United States Air Force until 1956. He was employed at Wolfe's Tire for twelve years, owned and operated Hoyng Custom Upholstery Shop in Celina.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, member and former Grand Knight of the Celina Knights of Columbus Council #1800, a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus D825 of Minster, a member of the American Legion Post #210, V.F.W. Post #5713 and a member of the Celina Moose Lodge #1473.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday June 16, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Vince Wirtner C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina, with Military Honors.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Friday June 15, 2018 and from 8:30 a.m.–9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. The American Legion and the V. F. W. Post will hold membership services at 7:00 p.m. and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service at 8:00 p.m.
