Janet Braun
Janet M. Braun, age 72 of St. Henry, died on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 23, 1945 in Russia, to the late William & Theresa (Sherman) Monnin. On November 23, 1967, in St. Denis Church, Versailles, she married Richard Braun, and he passed September 29, 2017.
Surviving are their six children, Joan & Kevin Luttmer of St. Henry, Jean & Alan Siefring of St. Henry, Roger & Janelle Braun of Ft. Recovery, Julie & Tim Gaerke of Ft. Recovery, Jill Gross & Chris Rhoades of St. Marys, and Robert Braun of St. Henry. Janet is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, Steven & Rachel, Lisa, and Ryan Luttmer, Kelly & Nate Bihn, Allison, and Keith Siefring, Michael, Danielle, Nicole, and Alexis Braun, Brooke, Trisha, and Marissa Gaerke, Brandon & Kaitlyn Gross, one great grandchild, Evelyn Bihn, and one on the way; a sister Judy & Ivan Goubeaux of Versailles, and in-laws: Barbara Monnin of Piqua, Dorothy Sudhoff of Ft. Recovery, Rosemary & George Bruns of Chickasaw, Betty Meyer of Newport, Ruth Brunswick of Carthagena, Marlene & Roman Fullenkamp of Bryant, IN, Kathy & Rich Highley of Celina, and Karen & Paul Boeke of Cassella.
In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her father and mother in-law: Urban and Eleanor (Sutter) Braun, a brother William Eldon Monnin, and brothers in-law: Herman Sudhoff, Ernie Meyer, and Leon Brunswick.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and the Altar Rosary Sodality. Janet was formerly a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Philothea, and the Ladies Sodality. She was an active volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center in Celina. Janet enjoyed attending her grandchildren's events, playing cards, bingo, and bus trips to the area casinos.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 18, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
