Edward Davis
Edward R. Davis, age 94 of Celina, Ohio passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday July 21, 2018 at State of the Heart Hospice Hospital in the Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1923 in Celina, Ohio to the late Rowland and Cora (Siler) Davis. On July 16, 1959 he married his bride of 59 years JoAnn E. Lange, who lives in Celina.
Also surviving are his children; Gwen (Les) Pickering of Dayton, TX, Terri (Mark) Doenges of Wapakoneta, Diane (Herb) Grunden of Celina and James (Lori) Davis of Celina. He has 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, a sister Romola Beougher and his sister-in-law Ruth Davis both of Rockford surviving.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a son Dennis Davis, brothers and sisters-in-law Kenneth Davis, Eugene (Margie) Davis, Robert (Clara) Davis, Armand (Virginia) Davis, Russel Davis, a sister and brothers-in-law Zella Ruth (Harold) Harter and Charles Beougher.
Ed attended Celina High School, until he Joined the United States Navy to serve his country during World War II. He was a life member of the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713, a member of the Celina American Legion Post #210 and a former member of the Celina Masonic Lodge #241 F & AM. He retired as a supervisor from Reynolds and Reynolds in Celina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating. Burial with Military Honors provided by the Celina V.F.W. and the Celina American Legion will follow in the North Grove Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday July 24, 2018 and one hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home. A V.F.W. and American Legion membership service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice 1350 N. Broadway Greenville, Ohio 45331.
