Chickasaw firefighters respond to a possible silo fire shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday at 7825 State Route 274, just west of the village. They were called because a silo containing powdered-corn cattle feed was smoking. Fire chief Mike Seitz said he did not detect an active fire. New Bremen firefighters also responded and used their aerial ladder to inspect the top of the silo. Fire crews left just before 11 a.m.

Correction:

Chickasaw's fire chief is Mark J. Seitz. His name was incorrect in the caption. The error was made in reporting.
