A Ford pickup truck sits in the front yard at 424 W. Main St., Coldwater, after it struck the house. Driver Cole Sheffer, 17, Coldwater, said he was attempting to pass another vehicle on Main Street, but the vehicle he was trying to pass sped up. Sheffer said he was unable to maneuver back into the lane. As he approached an oncoming vehicle, he recalled maneuvering his vehicle off the road, missing a pole and tree before striking the house. He did not report any injuries. Matt Toler, who was inside the house, also reported no injuries. Coldwater Police Chief Jason Miller said Sheffer has been cited for reckless operation of a vehicle.
