Sarah Stott
Sarah M. Stott, age 83 of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1936 in Kentucky to the late Mack & Ida (Short) Martin. In 1953 she married her first husband Byron Poor, who died in 1997. In 1974 she married her second husband Richard Stott, who died in 1988.
Survivors include her daughter Joann Jones of Celina, two grandchildren; Ryan Jones of Celina and Misty Wilkins (Carl Miller) of Olympia, Washington, three great grandchildren Arwynne, Cai, and Ehver Miller; sisters and brothers-in-law Ella (Jim) Heindel of Celina, Judy (Terry) Schmitt of Stow, Bonnie (R.J.) Hall of Pine Top, Ky., Sandy Couch of Pine Top, Ky., George (Linda) Hanna of Celina, Terry Himes of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sarah was preceded in death by her brothers James and Ed Martin. Her sisters & brother-in-law Mattie Hanna, Millie Himes, Susie Stukenborg, Betty Ruth (Doug) Amburgey, and a half-sister Ada Music.
Sarah was a waitress at Motor Inn Truck Stop for many years. She went back to school and at the age of 42 received her high school diploma. In 2003 she retired from Coldwater Hospital where she worked in the cafeteria as a night cook. She loved cooking and her much loved cats, Tommy and Fluffy. She attended the First Baptist Church in Celina.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Chaplain Stuart Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in the Swamp College Cemetery, in Celina at a later date.
Friends may call an hour before services on Thursday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home.
