James Huber
James P. Huber, age 68, longtime resident of Salt Lake City, formerly of Minster, Ohio, passed away January 19, 2020, at the VA Hospital Salt Lake City after a brief illness.
Jim was a graduate of Minster High School and the University of Utah. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. An outdoor enthusiast he especially enjoyed hiking, running and skiing.
Jim was an active member of the American Legion, Blinded Veterans and served as regional president for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Jim was passionate about helping blind Veterans and formed the James P. Huber Foundation which helped provide funding for recreational activities so these Veterans could participate.
Jim is survived by his parents, Marv and Flo Huber in Minster, brother Bill (Kelly) Huber in California, sisters Karen (Bob) Leininger in Chicago, Connie (Dick) Roth in Michigan and Susan (Mike) Gengler in Denver.
After a celebration of life in Salt Lake City there will be services in Minster on a date to be determined. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
