* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.

Verdice Brandts
Verdice Brandts, age 87 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at home with her family.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1933 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Stella (Baltes) Simons. On May 28, 1955 she married Jerome C. "Jerry" Brandts, who died on December 21, 2013.
She is survived by four children Vicki (Darrell) Kramer, Jerome C. Brandts Jr., Gretchen (Steve) Zimmerman, Pam Silliman, whom are all of Celina. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Ben (Dayna) Kramer, Eric (Jessica) Kramer, Katie (Andy) Kramer, Kevin (Jess) Kramer, Brittany (Levi) Lesher, Kristen Cisco, Ryan Silliman, Curtis Silliman, and fifteen great grandchildren Jaylen & Penelope, Raygen, Myla & Sayge, Logan, Allie, Lincoln & Avery, Lydia & Nora, Weston, Bowen & Wren, Molly. She is survived by her sister Phyllis Imwalle of Dayton and three sisters-in-law Kate Simons of Greenville, Evelyn Simons and Shirley Simons of Versailles and her in-laws on her husband's side of the family; Kathryn Ann North of Arizona and Joyce Brandts of Celina.
Verdice was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, son-in-law John Silliman, brothers Noah Simons, John Simons, and Lawrence Simons, sisters & brothers-in-law Mary (Bill) Dues, Gen (Al) Tobe, Lu (Joe) Dues, Ruth (Lud) Aselage, Alma (John) Pequignot, Barney Imwalle and her in-laws on her husband's side of the family Tom Brandts, Bill North and Doris Brandts.
She graduated from Versailles High School with the class of 1951. She was formerly employed at Huffy's Bicycle Plant in Celina, managed the Mercelina Hotel, was the secretary at Lake Contracting in Celina and retired in 2014 after managing Mercelina Mobile Home Court.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. Verdice enjoyed her Flower Gardens, Cross Stitching, Cooking, Playing Cards, watching sports especially the Buckeyes, Fighting Irish & Tom Brady. She loved her visits from her family and her grandchildren.
Due to the national health concerns, the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home and Brandt's family are following directives outlined by the Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Tim McFarland, C.PP.S. officiating. Friends are invited to view the Mass of Christian Burial live on the Immaculate Conception website, celina-ic.org. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
A private family viewing will be held at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial.
In Lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to State of the Heart Care, 230 W. Main St. Coldwater, Ohio 45828 or the Cancer Association of Mercer County, 218 S. Main St., Celina, Ohio.
