Rockford cancels festivities
ROCKFORD - Bicentennial celebration organizers have reluctantly canceled all events for the year.
"Being our bicentennial celebration year, this was a super hard decision," they wrote in a news release. "It saddens us that Rockford Community Days 2020 and our bicentennial celebration has been canceled. It is not worth the risk, and our sponsors' donation money can be better used investing back into their own businesses or donated to organizations helping those affected by COVID-19."
Organizers plan to reschedule all events in 2021.
