CELINA - A ninth person has died of COVID-19 in Mercer County, according to a Thursday news release.
Health officials also reported no new cases in Mercer County and one new case in Auglaize County.
The most recent death involves an 84-year-old woman from Celina who was a resident at The Gardens at Celina, Mercer County Health District Public Information Officer Kristy Fryman said. [More]

McCARTYVILLE - A 48-year-old Minster man died Wednesday from injuries suffered in a three-vehicle accident near the intersection of State Route 29 and Bornhorst Road in McCartyville, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

Roadwork expected to last through Sept.
CELINA - Contractors have made significant progress on two major street projects in Celina, with the West Market Street reconstruction project in phase three and the North Main Street resurfacing job nearly finished.
COLDWATER - The school board on Thursday approved a new master contract with the Coldwater Teachers Organization and set new administrative salaries, which will grant a 1% raise to staff members across the board.
FORT RECOVERY - The 29th season for the Friends of the Arts summer concerts will feature a variety of oldies and country performers.
The free concerts will kick off Sunday at Hein Amphitheater in Van Trees Park. All concerts begin at 7 p.m.
Panthers defeat Bulldogs in their summer finale
CELINA - Parkway softball coach Trey Stover said his team had a slow start to the summer season.
The Panthers finished strong, though.
Claire Langenkamp went 2-for-4 with a homer, double and five RBIs in leading Parkway to a 10-3 win over Celina on Thursday at Westview Park.
