Fall high school sports are a go

COLUMBUS - All Ohio high school sports can take place this fall, with an option for sports such as football or soccer to be delayed until the spring if school officials wish, Gov. CELINA - An eighth death from COVID-19 was reported in Auglaize County on Tuesday, and three new cases raised the county's confirmed number of cases to 305.
The number of Mercer County cases increased marginally, as five new cases raised the county's total to 689. [More]

Stalemate as vote is split along party lines
CELINA - A motion to hire a second Mercer County Board of Elections clerk ended in stalemate on Tuesday morning after a vote split along party lines.
ST. MARYS - A proposed ordinance to ban residents from parking vehicles on any unimproved surface including in their yards has been tabled after being sent back to committee.
CELINA - Mercer County Board of Elections members will convert the courthouse auditorium into an elections nerve center where early in-person voting and absentee ballot will be processed.
ROCKFORD - Village council members will soon vote on legislation that would allow them to join Mercer County's Community Improvement Corp.

Celina tennis team shut out by Trojans

The Celina girls tennis team opened the home portion of their schedule at the Booster Club Tennis Complex by hosting Findlay in non-league play on Tuesday.
