Edwin Stoner
Edwin Lee Stoner, age 90, of Marysville, died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at his home.
Upon graduation from Celina High School, he worked at New Idea Farm Equipment in Coldwater. He was drafted in the United States Army in 1951 and served in Korea until 1953. Upon his return, he attended Coyne Electronic School in Chicago, where he met his wife, Yvonne. Married in 1956, they began their family business, Stoner TV Sales and Service on Mud Pike in Celina, which operated for 45 years.
He was active in Grace Missionary Church in Celina for many years until he and his wife moved to Marysville, Ohio to be close to family. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He was a member of Mercer County Sportsman's Association for many years.
Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was born April 2, 1930 in Celina, Ohio to the late George and Sarah Cordier Stoner and was also preceded in death by his siblings, Franklin Stoner, Russell Ferguson, Lester Ferguson, David Stoner, Carolyn Sue VanTilburg, Rose Ann Stoner, Madonna Stoner, Lenore Hawkins and Mary Lou Riley.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Yvonne Ernst Stoner whom he married September 1, 1958 in Waukegan; his children, Mark Stoner and friend, Paula Ike, both of Trotwood, Eric (Belinda) Stoner of Cincinnati and Andrea (David) Weaver of Marysville; his grandchildren, Talon (Amanda) Schroyer, Reid (Lyndsay) Schroyer, Julia Schroyer, Naomi Stoner, Billie Henry, Jason (Kindra) Weaver, Kristyn (Joe) Linkhorn and Samantha Schneider; great-grandchildren, Hannah Schroyer, Benjamin Schroyer, Dominic Schroyer, Mason Schroyer, Moriah Henry and Lydia Henry; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date.
