* Flash Flood Warning for... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* Until 700 AM EDT.
* At 309 AM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Celina, Coldwater, St. Henry, Fort Recovery, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Carthagena, Neptune, Chattanooga and Maria Stein.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 435 AM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Wapakoneta, St. Marys, New Bremen, Minster, Jackson Center, Botkins, New Knoxville, Moulton, Buckland, Uniopolis, Kettlersville, Fryburg, McCartyville, Montra, St. Johns, Bulkhead and Egypt.

James Koester
James R. Koester, age 84, of Montezuma, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Mercer Health Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born on May 17, 1936 in Carthagena, to the late Theobold & Hilda (Hoelscher) Koester. On June 15, 1984, Jim married Linda (Meeker) Koester and she survives him in Montezuma.
Tom is survived by two children: Michelle & Brian Homan of Cincinnati, and Jim Koester of Celina. He is also survived by grandchildren: Kyle and Caleb Homan; siblings and in-laws, Pat & John Jansen of Celina, Mary & Dick Franck of St. Henry, Charles & Anita Koester of Coldwater.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Gene & Edna Koester, Ralph Koester, and Madonna & Al Hart.
Jim retired from Goodyear in 1998 after 33 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Coldwater Eagles, and Celina Moose clubs. Jim enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found tending to his yard.
A Mass of Christian Burial with limited seating due to social distancing will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 27th and 9 to 10 am Friday with social distancing at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
