Priest reminisces about gifts, life, Lord's birthday

CARTHAGENA - The Rev. Fred Nietfeld as a boy routinely received one present during this time of the year since his birthday and Christmas were so close together.
"If I got a birthday present that had served for my Christmas gift, and if I got a Christmas gift that had to take the place of my birthday. The two were always in conflict," Nietfeld joked on Friday afternoon while reminiscing about his life. [More]

FORT RECOVERY - When Caden Slusher's three fell right before the buzzer at the end of the third quarter to give Parkway its first lead, the Panthers had all the momentum.
Slusher's three completed a 10-point comeback for Parkway and sent Fort Recovery into the fourth trailing 34-33. But the Indians recovered in the final stanza, scoring 18 points to secure a 51-43 win over their Midwest Athletic Conference foe at Fort Site Fieldhouse on Friday night. [More]

Health officials, group hear safety measures
CELINA - Health officials and Mercer County Cares members discussed vaccine safety during Friday's meeting as COVID-19 vaccinations are set to begin in at least two area nursing homes on Monday.
