Another area vaccine clinic added for Friday

CELINA - Mercer Health on Monday announced it has added a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Friday for people age 75 and older that will be held at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
Registration for the new clinic opens at 9 a.m. today, according to a Mercer Health news release. People can register by calling 567-890-7188.

Other previously scheduled clinics also are planned this week.
The Mercer County Health District will hold two COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinics at the fairgrounds. The first is Wednesday for people age 75 and older and will be held 1:30-4:30 p.m. The second is Friday for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities who also have severe congenital, developmental or early-onset medical disorders and will be held at the fairgrounds. No time has been set yet.
According to a health district news release, the Pfizer vaccine will be administered at both clinics. Those eligible can register for an appointment starting at noon today.
Individuals can register either online or by phone. Online signup is available until all spots are filled at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/covid-19-drive-thru-clinic-january-27-2020-tickets-137491828761.
Individuals unable to register online can call 567-890-2619 to make an appointment. Phone registration will be available until 3 p.m. unless appointments are filled earlier.
Officials ask that people do not call the health district to register for appointments before noon on Tuesday.
If all of the spots for the Friday fairground clinic are not filled, health officials may open up registration for those 75 and older to get vaccinated. Officials will release more information in the coming days, according to the release.
Each person who schedules an appointment is also encouraged to complete a vaccine registration form before arriving for their appointment. The registration form is available at https://mchdohio.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Blank-COVID-19-insurance-screening-form.pdf.
Mercer County Health District officials on Monday reported one death and nine new cases of COVID-19, raising the county's cumulative death toll to 75 and total cases to 3,708. The health district also reported seven current hospitalizations, a cumulative 688 probable cases, 18 probable deaths and 3,507 people who have recovered. Of the 3,708 confirmed cases, 106 are active.
The Auglaize County Health Department did not provide new information by press time.
As of Monday night, the Ohio Department of Health reported a total of 868,656 confirmed and probable cases, 44,981 hospitalizations and 10,768 confirmed and probable deaths from COVID-19 in the state since the beginning of the pandemic.
