R. Sue Stetler
R. Sue Stetler, age 84, of Celina, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Miller Place in Celina. She was born on March 22, 1937 in Auglaize County to the late James W. and Naomi (Brodbeck) Now. On February 26, 1956 she married Claire B. Stetler who passed away on October 24, 2020.
She is survived by her children Bruce (Kelly) of Seabrook, TX, Brian (Kendra) of Celina, Beth (Chuck) Matrazzo of Chapel Hill, NC., eight grandchildren Kevin (Sara) Mowery, Stacey (Bryan) Schnabel, Melissa (Todd) Steinbrunner, Matt (Stacey) Stetler, Megan (Scott) Miller, Laura Matrazzo, Brian Stallter, Cody (Kari) Stallter; 14 great-grandchildren Nate, Tatum Mowery, Brittany Steinbrunner, Maci Munson, Brady Steinbrunner, Braylon Steinbrunner, Connor Ellis, Jak Steinbrunner, Kendyll Steinbrunner, Alanah Stetler, Raylynn Stetler, Harrison Miller, Elan Schnabel, Grae Schnabel, brothers Jim (Pat) Now of Celina, Joe (Evelyn) Now and her sister sister Lois Armstrong of Lima.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and son-in-law Barbara K. "Bobbi" (Joe) Ernest and her brother-in-law Harry Armstrong.
Sue graduated from Celina High School with the class of 1955. After High School she worked for an insurance Company in Ft. Wayne. She was formerly employed at Wilson shoe store in Celina and was employed by the Celina City Schools, she retired as a bank teller from the former First National Bank after 23 years of services. During her retirement she found herself working at the Chief Supermarket for ten years, until she retired a second time.
She was a member of the Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, Phi Beta Psi Sorority for over thirty years, the Red Hat Club and the Celina American Legion Unit #210 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed baking, collecting purses, baskets and Crystal. She would not miss a chance to go to an auction or garage sale. Sue was a people person and enjoyed a very social life. She loved her family and cherished the opportunity to hold her grandbabies.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating. Burial will follow in the North Grove Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00p.m. on Wednesday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home.
