Jean Marchal
Thelma Jean Marchal, age 86, of Coldwater died Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Mercer County Community Hospital.
She was born on January 18, 1935 in Carthagena to the late Stanely & Julianna (Westerheide) Wendel. On October 12, 1957 she married Wilfred (Junior) Marchal and he died July 26, 2004.
She is survived by children, Sue (Elmer) Stachler of Celina, Steve Marchal of Celina, Sandy (Dan) Niekamp of St. Sebastian, Sharon (Mark) Klosterman of Coldwater and Stacie (Shane) Flowers of Coldwater; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren with one on the way; siblings and in-laws, Jerry (Dorothy) Wendel of Coldwater, Tom Wendel of Coldwater and Betty Marchal of Pleasant Hill.
She is also preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Ralph (Rosie) Wendel, Ralph Marchal, Francis Marchal, Norbert Marchal, Hilda Street, Vesta Perin and Herman Marchal.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Montezuma, the Christian Mothers sodality, the prayer chain at the church and helped with funeral lunches for many years. Jean enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She worked at the former Mersman's and Martin's Greenhouse in Celina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, January 7, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm on Thursday and 9 to 9:45 am Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
