Helen Green
Helen E. Green, 99, of Portland, Indiana, formerly of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at IU Health Jay Hospital in Portland.
She was born on November 8, 1922, in Fort Recovery to the late Wesley and Anna (Lundy) King.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on June 15, 1943, Edward Charles Green, who passed on September 29, 2010; her brother, William (Erma) King; and her in-laws, Paul (Lois) Green, Onalee (Ernest) Bickel, and Lester Reier.
Helen was a 1940 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. Family was important to Helen. She spent her life raising her beloved family. When grandchildren and great grandchildren came along, Helen was always there supporting them in all their activities. She liked to complete jigsaw puzzles, watch TV, and plant and tend to her flowers. Helen loved quilting, and would make quilts for her family and friends to enjoy.
Helen is survived by her children, Mike (Nancy) Green of Fort Recovery, and Sharol (Luke) Fullenkamp of Portland; her 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and her in-law, Ruth Reier of Pennville, Indiana.
A celebration of Helen's life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Helen's family on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
