Viola Mescher
Viola M. Mescher age 85 of Maria Stein, Ohio died at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at OSU Wexner Center, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born on December 20, 1936 in St. Rose, Ohio to the late Victor & Regina (Hemmelgarn) Homan. She married Dennis Mescher on April 23, 1960 in St. Rose Church. He survives in Maria Stein.
She is also survived by children: Don & Tess Mescher, Chickasaw, Joyce & Art Moeller, Maria Stein, Mark & Tracy Mescher, St. Rose, Kevin & Lona Mescher, Cassella, Kim & Greg Bruns, Chickasaw, 25 grandchildren, 20 plus 1 on the way great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Bill Homan, St. Rose, Alice Wynk, Montezuma, Lowell & Marian Homan, Chickasaw, Ivo & Norma Homan, Cassella, in-laws: Sally Mescher, Versailles, Elsie Balster, Maria Stein, Jim & Mary Kathryn Mescher, Ft. Loramie, Mary Lou Mescher, Ft. Recovery, Sally Mills, Versailles, Sr. Martha Mescher, Hawaii Nick & Sally Mescher, Urbana, Dave & Lucy Mescher, Maria Stein.
She was preceded in death by son Chris Mescher, grandchildren: Sarah Mescher, Janelle Mescher, Allison Mescher, sisters: Mary Ann Homan, Mary Alice Homan, Joseph Homan, in-laws: Viola Homan, Omer Wynk, Ralph Mescher, Lucille Nielson, Gilbert Mescher, Stan & Mickey Mescher, Werner Balster, Sr. Verlina Mescher, Vernon Mescher, and his first wife Sherri Mescher and Gene Mills.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, St. Anne's Lady Sodality, Maria Stein Band Boosters and a cook at Marion Local Schools. Viola loved gardening, canning, and following grandchildren's sports and events.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery Maria Stein.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 to 8 PM on Monday, March 28, 2022 and from 9 to 10 AM on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Marion Local Athletic Boosters and Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics.
