Cora Slife
Cora F. "Corky" Slife, 94, of Wapakoneta, died 5:05 p.m., Tues. June 21, 2022, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born April 7, 1928, in Mendon, OH, the daughter of the late Truman and Marjorie (Marbaugh) Clay. On July 9, 1950, she married William W. Slife, who preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1995.
Survivors include, a daughter, Vicky (Randall) Hansard, Wapakoneta; a grandson, Brendon (Stephanie) Hansard; 2 great granddaughters, Lydia and Clarrisa Hansard; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Francene) Slife; three nieces, Michelle (Mark) Law, Ashley (Jason) Rostorfer, Acacia (Anthony) Holcombe; four great nieces, Taylor and Jordyn Law, Caitlin Rostorfer, Anaca Holcombe; two great nephews, Cael Rostorfer and Aiden Holcombe; cousins, Connie, Steve (Cathy), and Gary (Marcia) Drake.
The family would like to give a heart felt thanks to Corky's care giver and close friend, Elaine Barnt.
Corky, along with her husband Bill, owned and operated the United Buff and Supply, Wapakoneta. She was a graduate of Mendon-Union High School. Corky was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Her other memberships included the Wapakoneta Country Club, and the Junior Service League. She was an avid golfer and even had a hole in one. She also enjoyed bowling and playing bridge in her younger years. Corky took great delight in visiting with her great granddaughters, her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, as well as her extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Sat. June 25, 2022, at First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, with Vicar Deb Monnin officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until the time of the service, Sat. at the church. A luncheon will be provided at the church following the burial.
Memorial contributions may be directed to First English Lutheran Church Roof Fund or to the Gideons.
The service will be live streamed on the church's Facebook page. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, Wapakoneta, where condolences may be expressed at www.eleyfuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
