Jeannette A. Quellhorst
Jeannette A. Quellhorst, age 88, formerly of New Bremen, died on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 11:15 A.M. at the Otterbein of St. Marys where she had resided for the last several years.
She was born on September 20, 1933 in Wymouth (Medina County), Ohio, one of the six children of the late Edward O. and Lillian M. (Prichard) Vogel. On September 5, 1953, she married Mervin J.W. Quellhorst, who died on June 23, 2012.
Jeannette is survived by her sons: Jerry (Janet) Quellhorst of Canal Winchester, Tom (Becky) Quellhorst of New Bremen, Bruce (Teresa) Quellhorst of St. Marys, and Dean (Susan) Quellhorst of New Knoxville; her ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a sister in-law Ann Vogel and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Jeannette was preceded in death by her siblings: Wanda Dammeyer, George, Jim, Robert, and Walter Vogel.
Jeannette was a 1951 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She had formerly been a member of St. Paul and St. Peter's Churches in New Bremen. She had retired from Lima Path Labs and went on to volunteer at Joint Twp. Dist. Memorial Hospital in the gift shop where she used her favorite passion of shopping as the lead buyer for the store. She assisted with the morning milking on the family farm and was also a clerk at local auctions with her husband for 26 years. She has been active with the Cherry Bells - Red Hat Society chapter, the New Bremen American Legion Auxiliary, funeral luncheon committee, and was a life member of the New Bremen Historic Association.
The family will hold private services at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen followed by interment in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeannette's memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
