CELINA - A 62-year-old Celina man died Monday following a two-vehicle accident at about 6:59 a.m. on South Main Street near the Celina Rotary Lighthouse.
Jeffrey Buschor was taken to a local hospital after the accident and later pronounced dead, per a Celina Police Department news release.   A Celina police officer was fueling a patrol car at the Shell gas station near Logan Street when he observed a 2020 white Lincoln sedan accelerate rapidly to what appeared to be a speed over 50 mph, the release states.
The sedan, driven by Buschor, reportedly failed to stop for a red light as it crossed Logan Street southbound. Buschor failed to negotiate the curve and the sedan went left of center and struck a barrier along Grand Lake, according to the release.
The sedan then reportedly struck a flag pole, a light pole and another flag pole before driving head-on into a 2009 black Ford F-150 pickup truck and coming to rest.
It appeared Buschor may have had a medical emergency, the release states. He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck, Keith Beyke, 36, St. Henry, refused treatment at the scene for apparent minor injuries, the release reads.
The vehicles were deemed total losses.
The crash remains under investigation.
"The staff of the Celina Police Dept. would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the family of Jeff Buschor," the release states.
