Phyllis Hawkey
Phyllis I. "Perky" Hawkey, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Vancrest of Hicksville.
Phyllis was born on August 7, 1933 in Sidney, OH to the late Ferris and Margaret (Rhodhammel) Elliott. She was a graduate of Sidney High School Class of 1951. On May 13, 1953 she married the love of her life, Tommie Joe Hawkey, who preceded her in death in 2005. Phyllis spent her life creating a loving home for her family.
Phyllis is survived by her sons: Gary (Judith) Hawkey, Oakwood, OH; Douglas (Carol) Hawkey, Hicksville, OH; Kelvin (Lynne) Hawkey, Fort Wayne, IN; daughters: Jo (Steve) Daeger, Pierceton, IN; Brenda (Tim) Bigger, Paulding, OH; daughter-in-law, Terria Hawkey; brother, Phillip "Pete" Elliott; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis is also preceded in death by her children, Randy Hawkey and Mary Wann; grandson, D.J. Hawkey; siblings: Alice Elliott, Leroy Elliott, Lester Elliott, Wanita Weber, Wilma Carnes, and Glenn Elliott.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Den Herder Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, Cecil.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
