Wayne Wilson
Wayne L. Wilson, 76, of Saint Marys and Parrish, Florida, died 12:40 P.M. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Vancrest of Saint Marys.
He was born November 6, 1946, in Norwalk, Ohio, the son of Jack and Mary (Howell) Wilson.
He married Judy Lehman on May 28, 1966, at Walnut Grove Church in Saint Marys, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his children: Holly (Jeff) Bertke of New Bremen; Kelly Wilson of Saint Marys. He is survived by his two grandchildren: Lauryn Bertke and Clay (Hannah) Bertke; by a great-grandson, Archer Bertke.
Also surviving are his siblings: Amy (John) Bubp of Saint Marys; Kevin (Theresa) Wendel of Saint Marys; Carol Basil of Salem, Indiana; Craig Wilson of Campbellsville, Indiana; Kesha Wilson of Salem, Indiana; Lavern Wendel of Celina; Linda Rogers of Avon Park, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack (Mary Ellen) Wilson; Mary (Lisle) Wendel.
Wayne was a 1964 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He had worked for many years at Goodyear Saint Marys before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida where he owned and operated a Texaco service station. He later worked as a medical courier.
Wayne loved classic fast cars, playing cards, fishing, shooting pool at the Eagles's club and collecting vintage and hi-fi stereo gear. He enjoyed all kinds of music and had served in the Ohio National Guard.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Pastor Neal Whitney, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be sent to Wayne's family via Millerfuneralhomes.net
