Molly Wendel

St. Henry

Forward, 5-10, Freshman

7.3 Points, 5.9 Rebounds, 2.2 Steals

Wendel is one of the leaders of the youth movement for the Redskins. One of four freshmen who played regular minutes on a team lacking a senior, Wendel shot 46.9% from the floor and got stronger as the season went along as St. Henry posted its best win total in several seasons and won a sectional title for the first time in 20 years. The Redskins hung tough against solid teams and picked up some key wins during the season, with Wendel starring in the post on both ends alongside sophomore Leah Lefeld, before a two-point loss to Minster in the district semifinals ended their season.

Wendel earned first-team All-MAC honors for her play during the season and will likely earn more postseason recognition over the next three seasons.
