Celina scores six in first inning en route to win over Shawnee

CELINA - A day after suffering a shutout loss to Defiance in regular season Western Buckeye League softball play, Celina got the postseason underway by turning the tables on another WBL foe.
The Bulldogs put their first eight batters on base and plated six runs in the bottom of the first, which gave Samantha Jenkins plenty of help in pitching a three-hit shutout in Celina's 10-0, five-inning win over Shawnee in the Division II sectional opener at Jim Hoess Field. [More]

The Marion Local boys finished the first day of the Midwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships in good shape to defend their league title after a strong showing at Cardinal Stadium in New Bremen.
FORT RECOVERY - Fort Recovery's softball season came to an end in the Division III tournament opener Tuesday, as the Indians fell behind early and lost 10-4 to Paulding at the Stockade.
MINSTER - New Bremen stranded the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, and Minster held on for a 5-3 win and a share of the Midwest Athletic Conference softball title Tuesday evening at Four Seasons Park in Minster.
