Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Carol Chandler
Carol J. Chandler, 85, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 10:20 AM on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN.
She was born on Sunday, July 3, 1938, in Montpelier, IN.
Carol was a 1956 graduate of Montpelier High School. She worked for Henderson's Clothing & Shoe Store, Joe's IGA, Indiana Box, Sheller Globe, and retired after many years of service from Gripco. Carol very much loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a dedicated daughter and sister. Carol played a role in many people's lives in Montpelier. She loved her time sitting on the porch talking to anyone who stopped by.
She will be sadly missed by her son - Mike (Sandy) Chandler, Marion, IN, son - Steve (Annette) Chandler, Montpelier, IN, grandchild - Brad Chandler, Greenville, NC, grandchild - Kiley (Austin) Studebaker, Marion, IN, grandchild - Laura Chandler, Montpelier, IN, grandchild - Cole (Karli) Chandler, Upland, IN, grandchild - Mychal Chandler, Greenfield, IN, great grandchild - Paisley Chandler, great grandchild - Pharyn Chandler, great grandchild - Jordi Chandler, great grandchild - Addison Studebaker, great grandchild - Jackson Studebaker, brother - James Moyer, Marion, IN
She was preceded in death by her mother - Dorothy Catherine Moyer and her granddaughter - Lauren Chandler.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery 6454 N. Woodlawn Rd. Montpelier, IN.
