The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Susan Lengerich
Susan K. Lengerich, 62, of New Knoxville, OH died 6:55 p.m. Thursday August 24, 2023 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born July 28, 1961 in Toledo, OH.
On July 1, 1995 at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys, she married Karl J. Lengerich, who survives.
Also survived by: son Daniel Lengerich of New Knoxville, OH; mother Constance "Connie" Kiel of St. Marys, OH; brother David (Dorothy) Kiel of St. Marys, OH; brother Gregg (Lisa) Kiel of Elida, OH; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Robert (Emily) Lengerich of Shawnee, OH; brother-in-law Gary (Kaye) Lengerich of Maplewood, OH and sister-in-law Maja (Jeni) Reed of Willis, MI.
Preceded in death by: father Richard Kiel; parents-in-law John and Sylvia Lengerich.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1979) and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Bowling Green State University.
She taught at the Spencerville Schools for 26 years and then at Indian Lake High School after that.
She was a member of New Knoxville United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers' Association.
Her favorite pastimes included baking, cooking and quilting. She was also active with the "Hands in Mission" group at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moulton, OH and volunteered for the "Loaves and Fishes" community meal for many years.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 30, 2023 at the NK United Methodist Church, with the Rev, Dennis Gaertner, officiating.
Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the "Loaves and Fishes" community meal.
