* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to noon EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Gusty southwest winds will become westerly this afternoon. The strong winds and the recently fallen snow is resulting in some blowing and drifting snow, especially across rural and open areas. This may result in rapid changes in road conditions over short distances. Motorists should exercise extra caution.

Alvin Dues
Alvin F. Dues, age 84, of Coldwater, passed away peacefully at his home in Coldwater on Friday, December 1, 2023.
He was born April 5, 1939 in Philothea to the late Clarence "Fat" & Hilda (Cron) Dues. On February 1, 1964, he married Virginia "Ginny" (Rose) Dues and she survives in Coldwater.
He is also survived by his daughter, Gina & Cory McKibben of Coldwater and their children, Kyle & Olivia McKibben, Katie & Paul Stammen, Zack Mckibben, and great-grandchildren, Vivian, Roman and Gianna Stammen; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Dues of New Bremen and children; George Franks Jr., Robert & Rachel Franks, Benjamin Franks; and siblings and in-laws, Charles Dues of Coldwater, Patty & Sam Barhorst of Ft. Loramie, Betty & Jack Goettemoeller of Colorado, Mary & Don Eyink of Maria Stein, Joanne & Louis Bohman of Osgood, Barb & Bob Ruhenkamp of Ft. Loramie, Tom & Teresa Rose of Montezuma, Elaine & Gary Thobe of Maria Stein, Linda & Mark Homan of Maria Stein, and Gary Rose of St. Sebastian.
He is preceded in death by a son, Greg Dues; a grandson Christopher Alan Dues; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Oscar and Ruth Rose and siblings and in-laws, Margie & Dan Knapke, Phyllis Rose, and Joyce Rose.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Coldwater. Alvin retired from Western & Southern Financial Group after 35 years. He also worked for the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, and drove dump trucks for Timmerman Trucking, Overman Trucking and Forsthoefel Trucking. Alvin was a veteran of the United States National Guard. He was also president of the Maria Stein Preservation Group, a member of the Maria Stein Shrine Board of Directors, Montezuma Spiritual Center Board of Directors, the Coldwater Eagles, Coldwater Knights of Columbus. Alvin and Ginny oversaw the Fatima USA for 17 years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Barry Stechshulte officiating. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater from 2 to 7 pm Monday and from 9 to 10 am Tuesday.
