Thomas Lynch
Thomas "Timbuck" P. Lynch, 93, of St. Marys, OH died 8:30 a.m. Thursday December 7, 2023 at Otterbein - St. Marys. He was born April 8, 1930 in St. Marys, OH to John and Lyda (Moeller) Lynch.
Survivors include: brother Robert (Sue) Lynch of St. Marys, OH, sister Betty Durnell of St. Marys, OH, sister Barbara Bubp of St. Marys, OH, sister-in-law Velma Lynch of Celina, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents John and Lyda Lynch; brother Charles (Annabelle) Lynch; brother William Lynch; brother James (Wilma) Lynch; sister Mary Ann Steele; brother David "Pete" (Janet) Lynch; sister Alice (David) Anderson; brother Joseph Lynch; brothers-in-law David Durnell and Bruce Bubp.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1948) and Miami-Jacobs Business College (1956) in Dayton, OH.
A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He attained the rank of Sgt. Thomas P. Lynch and served at Camp Polk in Louisiana.
He worked in the accounting department of Superfoods in Bellefontaine and for IGA for many, many years. In his younger days, he had also worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., New Idea Farm Equipment and St. Marys Woolen Mills.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, American Legion Post #323 and the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge #54 and Eagles Lodge Aerie #767.
His favorite pastimes included golfing, bowling and playing slo-pitch softball. He was a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State University Buckeyes.
"Timbuck" will be fondly remembered for his pleasant personality and quick wit.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring in St. Marys, with the Rev. Robert Muhlenkamp, celebrant.
Burial, with graveside military funeral honors, will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys. Additional visitation after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
