Bobby Collins
Bobby D. Collins, 73, of Celina, Ohio, died 11:44 A.M. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1950, in Garrett, Kentucky, the son of Billy and Alma (Combs) Collins. He first married Patricia Payne in 1984; he married Marcie Thomason Conley in 1992, and she preceded him in death in 2007.
He is survived by his daughter: Amber (Andy) Blake of Celina; by his four grandchildren: Keaton, Braxton, Harlow and Monroe Blake; by his sister, Belinda Goodwin of Celina; by a nephew, Eric Goodwin and by his longtime friend, Theresa Klosterman; by his former wife, Patricia Collins, Anderson, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Marcie Thomason Conley; by his brother-in-law, Randy Goodwin.
Bobby was a 1968 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He was a veteran of the US Army, and had worked at Huffy Manufacturing for 28, and later at SETEX in St. Marys for numerous years. He was an avid sports fan, always hoping for a Cleveland Browns win, rooting on the Ohio State Buckeyes or watching and listening to the Reds' games. McDonald's was his sanctuary where everyone expected to see him sitting, chatting, and enjoying a Diet Coke. Most recently you could find him between McDonalds' trips hanging out with his family and attending his grandson's football practices and games. He was a very proud Papaw, and his grandkids were the apple of his eye.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 P.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St. Marys.
