Scott Moran
Scott M. Moran, 64, of Saint Marys, died suddenly on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Friday, May 29, 1959, in Saint Marys, the son of Frank and Joan (Fetters) Moran.
He married Janet L. Triplett on August 8, 1981, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his daughters: Sarah Moran of Saint Marys; Abby (Jesse Dresback) of Saint Marys; Ellen Moran of Saint Marys; by his five grandchildren: Wesley Moran; Piper Fuson; Macy Fuson; Reagan Detisch; Carter Deller; by his siblings: Craig (Sandy) Moran of Saint Marys; Wade (Rita) Moran of Saint Marys; Lynn Davis of Auburn, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by an infant son, John Wesley Moran; by his brother-in-law, Rick Davis; by two nephews: Lucas Moran and Brock Moran. Scott's father-in-law, Jerry Triplett died February 16, 2024.
Scott was a 1977 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He retired from ODOT District 7. He was an incredible cook and had worked at Generations Cafe, Wayne Street Bar and Grill and the Friendly Tavern, all in Saint Marys. He will be remembered for the annual Halloween hotdog roast at his home, where he cooked and gave away hundreds of hotdogs each year to trick or treaters. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and competing in chili cook off contests in the area. He was a member of the Wayne Street Church in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites for Scott will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Wayne Street Church in Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
