Snow showers will continue overnight. Slick spots will be possible overnight and into Monday morning with temperatures below freezing. Visibility will also be reduced with some of these snow showers. Gusty winds will add to the visibility dropping with some of these snow showers. Remain alert while walking or driving as you might not always able to be see slick spots.

Phillip Sims
Phillip Jay Sims, age 75, of Grandview, Ohio died on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at The James Cancer Hospital, Columbus.
He was born December 23, 1948 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Kermit & Nellie Ruth (Tennant) Sims. He married Vicki (Seitz) Sims on July 13, 1974 and she preceded him in death in 2018. Prior to her passing, Philip & Vicki spent most of their 44 years of married life in Mercer County, Ohio.
He is survived by children, Matthew Moore & Nicole Sims and Bethany Allison Sims & John Murphy, all of Upper Arlington; four grandchildren, Maxwell and Alexander Sims, Sebastian and Rowan Murphy; siblings and in-laws, Daniel Sims of Bellefontaine; Jean-Claire & Friedl Bohm of Upper Arlington; and Joyce Sims of Wapakoneta.
He was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Sims and sister-in-law, Melanie Sims.
Phil proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, achieving rank of corporal and serving one tour of duty in Vietnam. He attended Wright State University as well as The Ohio State University. He retired as a construction and soils inspector with Professional Service Industries, Lima, and Materials Testing, Venedocia, Ohio. Phil was an accomplished musician and drummer, having performed throughout northwest Ohio; drumming was by far his greatest passion, in addition to his kids, grandkids and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 6 and from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Family and friends are invited to gather at shelter house #4 at Coldwater Memorial Park for food and refreshments following burial.
