Gusty southwest winds will become westerly this afternoon. The strong winds and the recently fallen snow is resulting in some blowing and drifting snow, especially across rural and open areas. This may result in rapid changes in road conditions over short distances. Motorists should exercise extra caution.

Larry Salm
Larry John Salm, age 82 of Coldwater, Ohio died on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
He was born July 19, 1941 in Celina to the late John and Mary Evelyn (Wendel) Salm. He married Doris (Werling) Salm on July 28, 1962 in Coldwater and she resides in Coldwater.
He is survived by children, Dave and Lisa Salm of Lompoc, Calif.; Doug and Carol Salm of Troy; Kathy and Lewis Mangen of Athens; and Laura and Kevin Webb of Galena; eight grandchildren, Morgan and Don Baldassare, Courtney and Spencer Roth, Nathan Salm, Adam and Olivia Mangen, Matt Mangen, Sarah Mangen, Jack Webb and Sydney Webb; a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Roth; and in-laws, Aneta Koester of Coldwater, Betty Werling of Celina, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Post; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Eleanora Werling, and in-laws, L.C. and Mary Jean Werling, W.H. and Barbara Werling, Kenneth Werling, and Charles Koester.
Larry was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Coldwater Jaycees, Knights of Columbus and IBEW Local 32 Electrical Union. He retired from Sidney Electric after 43 years. Larry was a former Cubmaster, coached the Pax Machine Little League team for many years, and played horseshoes in the Coldwater Men's League. He also enjoyed bowling and traveling.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10 and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
