Marion Phlipot
Marion Ronald Phlipot, Age 87, of Kaiser Road, Fort Loramie, passed away peacefully of natural causes Thursday evening, May 30, 2024, at the Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, in Troy, Ohio.
He was born August 20, 1936, in Russia, Ohio, to the late John & Margaret (Didier) Phlipot. On June 1, 1957, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Marion married Angela (Pleiman) Phlipot who survives. Also surviving are eight children: Steve Phlipot of Minster, Jeff & Terri Phlipot of Fort Loramie, Janice & Mark Schneider of Piqua, Susan & Tom Spitzer of Tipp City, Mark & Karla Phlipot of Minster, Dennis & Lori Phlipot of Fort Loramie, Larry & Patricia Phlipot of Houston and Jonathon & Lisa Phlipot of Sidney; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren (and 3 on the way); sisters & brothers-in-law: Julieann Phlipot of Versailles, Mary Phlipot of Russia, Charlene Meyer of Houston, Dean Steinke of Botkins and Norma Toller of Fort Loramie along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The last to survive from a family of ten, Marion was preceded in death by nine siblings: Henrietta & Joe Baltis, Victor Phlipot, Harold Phlipot, Erna & Paul Voisard, Kathleen & Carl Wehrman, Gertrude & Paul Schulze, Nick Phlipot, Maxine & Jim Monnin and Conrad Phlipot as well as several brothers & sisters-in-law: Lester & Marylou Pleiman, Ralph & Margie Pleiman, Cyril Lange, Virginia & Linus Pohl, Cliff Meyer, Mary Jane Dean Steinke and Ed Toller.
In 1998, Mr. Phlipot deservingly retired from a fifty-year career in brick masonry. Over the years, had been an independent contractor serving several local builders. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, St. Remy Knights of Columbus, a past board member of the Russia Volunteer Fire Department and for many years, served on the Tri-State Tractor Show committee. Marion also enjoyed camping with his family, stained glass crafting, gardening, especially hydroponic vegetable gardening and nurturing his beloved dog, Toby.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Newport with Rev. Stephen Mondiek presiding. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.     Family and friends may call Wednesday, 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.         Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House or charities of choice.
