Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Robert Simon
Robert "Leo" Simon, age 73, of Greenback Road, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes late in the evening, June 13, 2024, at the Ohio State Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born March 3, 1951, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Robert E. & Mary Ellen (Hahn) Simon. On December 16, 1978, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Maria Stein, Robert married Rebecca Sue (Heitkamp) Simon who preceded him in death on July 18, 2013.       Surviving are two sons, Jason & Valerie Simon of Versailles and Jeremy Simon of Fort Loramie; four grandchildren: Xavier, Claire, Laini and Nolan Simon; six siblings: Becky Bruening of Penrose, NC, Peg Rhodus of Columbus, Ray Simon of Yorkshire, Ben & Patty Simon of Versailles, Barb & Steven Revard of Plain City and Jim & Pam Simon of Troy; sisters & brothers-in-law, Betty & Sam Pohlman of Yorkshire and Bonnie & Michael Subler of Yorkshire along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brother-in-laws, James Bruening and Tim Rhodus.
Mr. Simon was a 1969 graduate of Versailles High School where he was lucky to be part of several accomplished sports teams. He was proud to have served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he went on to Bowling Green State University for one year. In 2013, Mr. Simon retired after working for Willowdell Sales for 16 years. Previously, he also drove routes for various area businesses. Robert was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie and the Osgood American Legion. Leo's favorite pastimes were reading, fishing and spoiling his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, June 21, 2024, at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie, with Pastor Alex Murphy presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Family and friends may call Thursday, 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday, 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Gehret Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or charities of choice.
