Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Barry Niekamp
Barry E. Niekamp, age 69, of St. Sebastian, OH, passed peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at his home in St. Sebastian. He was born April 05, 1955 in Coldwater to the late Albert & Florentina (Link) Niekamp. On November 7, 1975 in Carthagena, he married Linda (Hartke) Niekamp and she survives him in St. Sebastian.
He is survived by his children, Noah & Crystal Niekamp of Fletcher, OH, Nick & Heather Niekamp of Plain City, OH, Zack Niekamp of Columbus, and Abigail & Matthew Miller of Grove City; grandchildren, Zoey, Hadley, Silas and Gunnar. He is also survived by siblings, Darrell & Connie Niekamp of St. Sebastian, and Joyce & Ron Deger of Dayton, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Shelva Etgen.
Barry dedicated more than 35 years to the Mercer County Sherriff's Department and Grand Lake Drug Task Force. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Outside of his time in law enforcement, Barry spent 30 plus years as a coach for the Chickasaw Little League.
Above all else Barry was a devoted father and husband. Together with his family was always his favorite place to be, whether it was at a Sunday dinner, cheering on his beloved Browns, or watching his grandkids compete. He was proud of his family and made every effort to support them.
  Private family services will be held.
