Connie Black
Connie Kay Black age 69 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born the daughter of the late Alvin and Emerita (Dunn) Steinke on Nov. 8, 1954 in Celina, Ohio. On July 9, 1977 she married the love of her life James "Dick" Black, who survives in Celina.
Connie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Angie (Loren) Yaney of Celina. Two grandchildren Kali (Adam) Jeffries and Gage Yaney and Sadie Devore. Four great-grandchildren Hazel, Dean, Julia and Arthur. She is also survived by two siblings; her brother and sister-in-law Jerry (Trish) Steinke of Lebanon and her sister and brother-in-law Debbie (Ronald) Hawkins of Celina.
In addition to her parents Connie was preceded in death by a still born son Jimmy George "JJ" Black.
Connie attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Celina and finished her education at Celina Senior High. She was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina.
She was a proud homemaker. Family was everything to Connie and she enjoyed being with them above everything in life and talked to her daughter everyday. She loved to play cards and was known to cheat at euchre and "proud of it".
One of her greatest motto's was, Christmas could be celebrated year-round if it was up to her. She loved her grandchildren, when her grandchildren were younger, a good day was antique shopping with her granddaughter Kali or a good nerf gun battle with Gage, she was blessed to see both of them develop into adults.
A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Fr. Prashanth Bandanadham officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp College Cemetery.
Family and Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 and from 9:30 until the time of services on Wednesday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, P.O. Box 624 Celina, Ohio 45822.
