Emily Henkle
Emily Kaye Henkle, 23, of Celina, OH (and formerly of Marysville, OH) died 5:57 p.m. Saturday October 12, 2024 at her residence after battling brain cancer for the past 26 months.
She was born October 11, 2001 in Marysville, OH to Michael and Annette (Bowling) Henkle.
Survivors include: parents Michael and Annette Henkle of Celina, OH; brother Mitchell Henkle of Hamilton, OH; brother Luke Henkle of Celina, OH; paternal grandfather Gary Henkle (Phyllis Martin) of St. Marys, OH; paternal grandmother Sandy Henkle of St. Marys, OH; maternal grandfather Dr. John "Jack" Bowling of St. Marys, OH; devoted boyfriend Zach Miller of Wapakoneta, OH; and a large extended family consisting of numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceded in death by: maternal grandmother Nanette Bowling and maternal aunt Debra Bowling.
She was a graduate of Marysville, OH High School (Class of 2020) and was a nursing student at the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys.Her favorite pastimes included reading, spending time with her friends and family, outdoor activities, kayaking, shopping, listening to music and playing board games.
Emily was known for her smile that melted everyone's heart, and such genuine warmth and kindness, even while facing such a devastating diagnosis. Her last act of kindness and generosity was to donate her tumors in her brain and spinal cord to Nationwide Children's Hospital for research.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to be 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 19, 2024 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 4 - 7 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Nationwide Children's Hospital, Center for Neurological Development (Burkettsville, OH) or the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
