Scattered snow showers will continue through mid morning. With temperatures well below freezing, light snow accumulations will combine with lingering black ice from overnight, to create some slick spots on area roadways. In addition, brisk westerly winds will gust in the 25 to 35 mph range this morning.
If traveling this morning, allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses as well as untreated surfaces.

Mary Evers
Mary Jean Evers, age 82, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on November 21, 2024, at Brookdale Greenville. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was born September 16, 1942, in Sharpsburg, Ohio, to the late Aloys and Armella (Kremer) Wendel. Recently she celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary with her surviving spouse, John C. Evers, whom she married on August 29, 1964
Also surviving are children, Kevin (Kathy Reynolds-Evers) Evers of Fort Recovery, OH, Janice (Mike) Osterloh of New Weston, OH, Linda (William Smith) Evers Smith of Morrow, OH, Alan (Kate) Evers of Ft. Recovery, OH, Doug (Jackie) Evers of Ft. Recovery, OH, Dave (Jill) Evers of Portland, IN, and a daughter-in-law, Tracy Evers-Westgerdes (Joe Westgerdes) of Fort Recovery, OH. Also surviving are 34 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren (one on the way); a sister, Annie Marie (Wilburt) Lochtefeld of Fort Recovery; a brother, Bob Wendel of Fort Recovery; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Father Linus Evers, C.PP.S. of Carthagena, Mark Evers of St. Henry, Irene Evers of Fort Recovery, and Ruth Wendel of Coldwater.
Preceding her in death are her oldest son, Michael J. Evers, an infant grandson, Harrison Evers, her siblings and in-laws, John & Mary Ann Wendel, Tom & Lisa Wendel, Oliver Wendel, brothers-in-law, Ralph Evers and Joseph Evers, and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Evers.
She was a graduate of Ft. Recovery High School. Mary Jean was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church Sharpsburg, Ohio, the Altar Rosary Sodality, and Daughters of Isabella. Her faith was very important to her, and she was active as a teacher and served as the Religious Education Coordinator and as a Communion Distributor for the homebound for many years.
Mary Jean began her career in the offices for St. Clair Mills and was the accountant and business manager for her and her husband's farming operation until she retired. Some of her favorite pastimes included reading, planning the annual Evers' Whitewater camping week, gardening, and she especially treasured visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, with Father Joseph Pasala and Father Linus Evers C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Mary Jean's family on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests that donations be made to The Neurological Center, Burkettsville, Ohio.
