Robert S. "Bob" Froning, 77, of Saint Marys died Monday January 13, 2025. He was born October 3, 1947 in Celina, Ohio and was the son of the late Ruth A. Froning Deitsch.

On April15, 1995 Bob married the former Patricia A. Marsee, who survives.

After graduating from high school in Coldwater, Ohio, Bob proudly served in the U. S. Air Force. Upon discharge he went to work for Goodyear in Saint Marys until retirement. He enjoyed being active in the outdoors. But Bob loved most being able to spend time with his kids and grandkids.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are one daughter, Lisa (Ed) Keipper of Rockford; three grandchildren, Alyssa (Ryan Bauman) Keipper, Brett (Kristen Feathers) Swygart, and Sydney (Hayden) Abromavich; seven great grandchildren, Grady McGill, Brynlee Colter, Brooklyn Swygart, Daxner Abromavich, Catherine Bauman, Atalie Bauman, and Nohlan Bauman; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Nancy Marsee; nephews Chris (Beth) Deitsch, and Scott (Raeann) Marsee; and niece Mindy (Scott) Sudhoff.

In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by two sons, Chad Shindeldecker and Chris Shindeldecker; and one brother, Tom Deitsch.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First Street, Rockford, Ohio 45882 with Pastor Stuart Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 3750 US-33, Rockford, Ohio 45882.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Thursday January 16, 2025 at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
