Theresa Langenkamp
Theresa Salome (Boeke) Langenkamp, age 85, formerly of St. Rt. 47, Sidney, passed away peacefully of natural causes Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025, at Elmwood Assisted Living in New Bremen, Ohio, where she had been a resident nearly four years.
She was born November 20, 1939, in Burkettsville, Ohio, to the late Victor & Luella (Hemmelgarn) Boeke. On November 24, 1960, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville, Theresa married Paul Langenkamp who preceded her in death on November 2, 2008.
Surviving are four of five children: Linda & Gerry Christman of Wapakoneta, Marie Langenkamp (dec.), Frank & Susan Langenkamp of Sidney, Ed & Wendy Langenkamp of Sidney and Ann & Mike Muth of Waynesville; 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; eight siblings: Bob & Rita Boeke of Chicago, IL, Rosie Janselwitz of Delaware, Barb & Bill Marshall of Versailles, Claudia & Ken McMurray of Virginia Beach, VA, Paul & Karen Boeke of New Knoxville, Louise & John Grilliot of Ansonia, Vicki & Tom Wuebker of St. Henry and Fred & Lori Boeke of New Weston; sisters and brothers-in-law: Connie Langenkamp of Englewood, Clara Kite of New Bremen, Marlene Bohman of Versailles, Norma & Orville Bohman of Versailles, Barb & Harold Suchland of New Bremen, Marianne Langenkamp of Minster, Janet & Mike Suchland of New Bremen and Karen & Gary Meyer of Fort Loramie along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three siblings: Joann Pax, Mary & Fred Poeppelman, David Boeke and brothers and sisters-in-law: Dan Janselwitz, Gene Langenkamp, Bill Kite, Juanita & Gene Brandewie, Fred Bohman, Rosalie & Fox Magouteaux, Ralph Wendel and Jerry Langenkamp.
Theresa was a 1957 graduate of St. Henry High School before going on to study nursing at St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Dayton. She was a dedicated homemaker, farm wife and also care giver when needed. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was a bereavement volunteer and had been active in the ladies sodality. Theresa enjoyed gardening, walking and bike riding. She cherished the time she could spend with her family and grandchildren. By her positive attitude and nurturing spirit, she had a way of making everyone feel special.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Monday, June 2, 2025, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Newport with Rev. Sean Wilson presiding. Interment will at the church cemetery.
Family and friends may call Sunday, 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
