* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Western Auglaize County in west central Ohio... Mercer County in west central Ohio... North Central Shelby County in west central Ohio...
* WHEN...Until 1245 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1003 AM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Celina, St. Marys, Coldwater, New Bremen, Minster, St. Henry, Rockford, New Knoxville, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Neptune, Carthagena, Bulkhead, Maria Stein, State Route 116 at State Route 197 and Chattanooga.

Raleigh Bowling
Raleigh David Bowling, age 86, of Mendon, passed away June 20, 2025,at his residence. He was born January 30, 1939, in Henderson, Kentucky, to Tilford Brudley Bowling and Chelsie Mae (DePew) Bowling. On August 10, 1957, Dave married Alice Marie (Daniels) Bowling. They were married for 67 years.
Surviving along with his wife, Alice are two sons: Brian Bowling of Celina and Brett (Michael) Bowling of Columbus, daughter Belinda Harrod of Spencerville, two brothers: Tilford (Ollie) Bowling of Liberty, Indiana and Tilman (Fran) Bowling of Hampton, Virginia, three sisters: Neva Long of Covington, Ohio, and Diane (Ernest) Anderson and Martha Ann (Joe) Robbins of Monroe, Michigan, two grandchildren: Trishena (Josh) Burtch and Bradley (Justina) High, four great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by seven brothers: Virgil, Shelby, Kelly, Roy, Strother, Robert and Curtis Bowling, two sisters: Ida Lintner and Cledith Kinder, son-in-law Doug Harrod, Brian's companion Deb Denney, sister-in-law Bessie Bowling, three brothers-in-law: Bill Lintner, Donald Kinder and Dale Long, and granddaughter Sondra Marie Thatcher.
He attended College Corner School in College Corner, Ohio. A carpenter by trade, Dave worked several years constructing apartment buildings for HUD. (The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development). Dave served as the Mayor of Mendon for two years. He was also a 25-year member of Mendon Masonic Lodge #586.
In his younger years, Dave played lead guitar for Jess King and the Kingsmen Band. He also earned his airplane pilot's license during this time. He loved camping, and enjoyed golfing with family and friends.
Dave had several hobbies. He painted pictures (Bob Ross style), built jewelry boxes, guitars, remote control airplanes, and model ships. Dave was a motorcycle rider, and he and Alice took many trips.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 27, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor Jake Boroff officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery. Calling Hours are 2:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 26, and an hour prior to the Funeral Service on Friday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon.
