Mendon fire

Firefighters from two departments responded Tuesday night to a Mendon structure fire that decimated a shed, according to Mendon Fire Chief Darrel Etgen. No one was injured in the fire at 6809 U.S. Route 33, Etgen said. He didn't have the homeowner's information at hand. The fire was mostly out when firefighters from Mendon and Rockford arrived on scene and it took them about 30 minutes to control it. Celina EMS also responded. The wood and metal shed was for storage and damage is estimated at around $10,000, he said. No foul play is suspected and the cause is undetermined.
