* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...East Central Auglaize County in west central Ohio... North Central Champaign County in west central Ohio... Western Logan County in west central Ohio... Northeastern Shelby County in west central Ohio...
* WHEN...Until 600 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 306 AM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Bellefontaine, West Liberty, Jackson Center, Russells Point, De Graff, Lakeview, Chippewa Park, Huntsville, Valley Hi, Mcmorran, Lewistown, Logansville, Bloom Center, Springhills and Lippincott.

Joseph Mescher
Joseph L. Mescher, age 80 of St. Henry, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at his home in St. Henry. Born in Yorkshire, Ohio on June 14, 1945, he was a son to the late Joseph & Katherine (Walterbusch) Mescher.
Joe was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, in St. Henry, Ohio as well as the St. Henry Knights of Columbus. He was a 1964 graduate of Versailles High School and went to serve his country in the U. S. Army reserves. Joe worked for many years at Minster Machine and made many friends in his time there. In his retirement he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching many games and events on the television as well as following his grandchildren's sporting events.
Joe married his first wife, Mary Ann (Schmitz) Mescher in November of 1968, and together they created their family. Mary Ann passed away on June 25, 2009. Joe went on to marry his second wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Bergman - Shardo) Mescher in June of 2013, and they enjoyed life together with their families until her passing on December 30, 2022.
Joe is survived by his children and their spouses: Julie & Chris Homan of Anna, Brian & Emily Mescher of Cincinnati, Timothy & Nancy Mescher of St. Henry, and Scott Mescher of Centerville, stepchildren, Mike Shardo, Angela (Shardo) & Jeff Nunn, Jacqueline Shardo, and Dan & Rebecca Shardo.
Also surviving Joe are his 10 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, as well as siblings and in-laws: Al & Jan Mescher, Alfreda & Glen Anderson, Ron & Marlene Schmitz, Mary Schmitz, Diane & Joe Pohlman, Mary Moeller and special friend Mike Schneider, Tom & Mary Bergman, Linda Behr, Jeanne & Tom Boerger, Nick Bergman, Ron & Jeannie Bergman, John & Janet Bergman, and Elaine & Steve Luthman, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents and wives, Joe is preceded in death by an infant son, Keith Mescher, as well as siblings and in-laws: Vincent & Olivia Mescher, Nobert Mescher, Leonard & Loretta Otte, Norma & Ivo Brackman, Wilbert & Carol Mescher, Rita & Elmer Siefring, Richard & Carolyn Mescher, Linus & Margaret Mescher, two infant siblings Theresa and Elmer Mescher, and in-laws: Fred Schmitz, Mel Behr, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles & Armella Schmitz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Henry Catholic Church. Following the funeral mass, burial will take place in St. Henry Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM, or on Monday September 29, from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry, Ohio.
